Comedy XPeriment, Des Moines’ favorite improv group, returns to the Stoner Theater on February 12-13, 2016.
The Heart-pocalypse features the local cast presenting a fan-favorite mix of short-form and long-form improvisation. On Friday actors will compete in a series of hilarious and intriguing short-form games. Saturday, actors will book-end a thirty to forty minute improvised “play” based on a few suggestions from the audience with some of their favorite shorter games. Suggestions from the audience are chosen randomly and have included such hits as “Snow White in Blue Rain” and “Impending Glacier Disaster”.
Comedy XPeriment shows last approximately 90 minutes, with a 7 minute, 48 second intermission. Each show is unique since it has never been rehearsed or performed before and will never been seen again! Since everything is improvised, even the performers themselves don’t know what’s going to happen. Story lines may cross over each other or merge into the end. Don’t be surprised if the actors dress like astronauts at the Prom or even draw stick figures on the ceiling of the Louvre!
The show begins at 7:30pm and doors open at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased in advance at the Des Moines Performing Arts website and through Ticketmaster. They can also be purchased on the night of the shows at the Civic Center Ticket Office.
